Visual Communications:

Providing Creative Direction for Art, Design and Visual Communications, my independent, visual communications studio, ArriolaCreative, provides strategic, award-winning work for clients both nationally and internationally. I have worked on a variety of accounts including Apple Computers, Blue Cross of California, Disney, Toyota, Kaiser Permanente, Lexus, Pioneer Stereo,, Mitsubishi Motors, Northrop-Grumman, City of Hope, and Infinity. Some of my many local Southern California clients are the University of Southern California, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the California Institute of Technology, the Glendale Educational Foundation, the Mendenhall Gallery, the South Pasadena Chamber of Commerce, South Pasadena Arts Center and Arts Council.

My creative branding solutions employ visual strategies and executions for new media, print, broadcast, graphic and web design, logo and corporate ID, promotional materials, annual reports, direct mail, and photo shoots. Working with creative talent both in the US and abroad, I believe it is important to recognize that global points of view and messaging make for stronger, fresher and smarter work.

Visual Arts:

As an interdisciplinary, conceptual / mixed media artist, I draw much of my inspiration from my Latin roots in Highland Park, a small suburb of Los Angeles, and time spent in other parts of the world - mostly the Nordic countries. My passion is in discovering new terrains, experiencing new cultures, learning and speaking different languages. Much of my work is done while traveling and has been shown in galleries both in the US and abroad. I am very involved in arts education and instruct both art and design privately and publicly.

I have been an adjunct at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles since 2003, have taught at Cal State/ Los Angeles, East Los Angeles Community College and volunteer for non-profit arts organizations including Inner City Arts in downtown Los Angeles. Most recently, in 2018, I was awarded a Fullbright Specialist Grant in collaboration with the Danish School of Media and Journalism, in Denmark as an ongoing guest lecturer teaching Language as Design. In addition, I have participated in many Artist in Residencies in Los Angeles,

Denmark and Iceland.
